Steamed Barley with Raisins, Pine Nuts, Flaxseed and Coconut Oil |
Ingredients
1 Cup Pearl Barley
2 Cups filtered water
½ Cup Organic Raisins
2 Tbsp Pine Nuts (toasted lightly)
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
2 Tbsp Ground Flaxseed
2 Tbsp Organic Coconut Oil
Instructions
Cook the Pearl Barley in a steamer (it is easier and comes
out perfect every time.) Rinse the
barley in a fine sieve. Put the rinsed
Barley in the steamer bowl and add 2 cups of filtered water. Steam for one hour or until all the liquid
has been absorbed by the barley.
When the barley is cooked, add all remaining ingredients and
mix well.
Top with a dollop of Crème Fraiche or almond milk.
