It's extremely taxing at times, especially when I lose sleep.

One of my sisters takes her once every 4 - 6 weeks for a few hours. It's never long enough. Even the overnight visits that my mom had with her when my mom could sleep away from home, were not long enough. However, looking back, I'd take the longevity of an overnight visit any day.

In my town there's a respite program. I can pay someone 15 an hour to stay with my mom or take her out for rides or shopping.

I am looking into the new Assisted Living facilities going up around where I live. I am checking to see if they'd support her natural treatments and strict diet.

We'll have my mom stay at the home for a week or 2 so that Brian and I can finally take a honeymoon. We haven't had one yet and in April, it will be 2 years since we got married.

I'm hopeful that I may even be able to go back to work soon.

In the meantime, I'll keep blogging with the hope that one day someone will read it and get an idea on how they can help themselves or someone they love.Susan Higginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07019940790074997076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1879192449061145204.post-82199919623997783892009-10-20T22:01:16.947-04:002009-10-20T22:01:16.947-04:00Glad you had a good day, but so sorry about the st...Glad you had a good day, but so sorry about the stomach pains!! I'm new to your blog (have only read the most recent posts)...how often do you get a day of respite? Sounds like you sorely needed it... and didn't quite get your fill. I'm sure your daily life is so taxing. You deserve a break. Hope the next one is soon. I enjoy your blog. :)Arielle Lee Bairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17502836375098709320noreply@blogger.com
